I agree with everything you said but I just wanted to add that the SBA is literally a collection of the most incompetent people who have ever come together as a group. The policies are outright dumb and every single bulkmail they send has some kind of error, they feel like they’re not there to help the students and act as if the reimbursement money is coming out of their own damn pockets, i’m still waiting on my reimbursement since the last 7 months, this year’s SBA is especially incompetent.

Long answer alert

you absolutely should join SLSP if you have the chance. Yes, I hear you about the online classes during internships (went through the same thing not too long ago) but honestly, you just have to handle the tough stuff sometimes. I interned at a T1 during these internship break online classes, and the professors just did not cut us any slack or give us extensions because of these internships. We stayed up late, vented and cried about it, but we managed regardless. Maybe the internal you're writing won't be the best you've ever written, but if you push yourself, it can still be a good one. In any good college, you'd have to deal with tight deadlines and stressful situations. And regardless of where you work in the future, this is a skill that you need to have. Think of this as practice.

SWC is doing its best. They're dealing with the same admin that you are, and the admin staff treats SWC worse than they treat you. They absolute do encourage mooting, if you look at the mooting achievements of your seniors this is hard to dispute. SBA may have some strict rules and unrelenting positions on some things, but you cannot deny that there are some seniors who give you an incredible amount of help with moots. Maybe your SBA appointed stategist isn't any good, but if you take the effort to approach your seniors on your own, you'll definitely find help. My seniors were the absolute best, gave me good drafting advice, took oral pleadings and helped me practice, and I did my best to pass it on to my juniors. Mooting culture isn't just what the SBA tells you it is, it's also the kind of resources (books/databases/seniors) that you have access to.

Results speak for themselves. You've told us that you've landed a really good internship for Feb (congrats on that!) and trust me, the college name helped a LOT with that. You must have gotten the internship either through the Placement Cell or through contacts, and even if it's the latter, the college name helped with that. As someone who started the law school journey without any lawyer contacts, I thought that it would be the difference between a T1 job and a T2/T3 job, but it's not. (not that T2/T3s are any less valuable). Contacts get you internships, not jobs. Beyond that, it's up to you, nepo kid or not. I'm in a T1 now, and I know this would have been almost impossible if I'd been in XYZ college. So if you get into a top NLU go for it, but SLSP is an excellent choice if not.

I'm sorry you're struggling. If you need advice about mooting/academics/internships, reach out to your seniors. They can help more than you realize. That's why things like SYMPAL exist, even if the students barely make any use of it. Good luck!

bro don't come here. class timings aren't that big of a deal, since some days you'll have classes right from 8am, some days your first class might be at 12pm, it depends. Most professors are chill, no strict dress code as such. We used to have classes section-wise, but now they usually merge 2-3 sections (about 100-250 students) in one hall and teach. Highly unproductive environment if you actually want to listen and make notes. "Culture and daily life" eh depends on the kind of person you are. I genuinely believe joining this college was a horrible mistake but yeah, it's upto you. There's no satisfactory college life here.

Hi I’m a student at SLSP and here’s a pro tip to anyone thinking about joining. Don’t. They don’t even give you sufficient breaks for internships, the bare minimum. They torture you in every way possible. Management doesn’t care about the students’ grievances. Student welfare committee is useless. Nothing is encouraged here.

We have online classes going on DURING internship break, and our first internals will be based on what was taught online. Break started mid jan. Online classes, less than 10 days later. Internals? 2 per day, starting 14th feb. So if you landed a really good internship for feb like I did, youre fucked. There is no scope for growth in this college guys, don’t make the same mistake. They dont encourage mooting, interning, nothing. Oh and most of the professors are awful too👍🏽
