1. It requires a JRF or NET minimum

2. It favours the political science, sociology students more

3. It used to favour MPhil students, but since it's lapse, they prefer working or research experience

4. Very biased interview.

Sorry but I not personally familiar with them. You may consider going through their recent publications to see if they are a right fit for your research interests.
Have started a different thread. Let's just say, I'm.a little bit miffed with myself for choosing NLS.
The current VC has quality as the biggest objective. Now, he feels that making coursework requirements will.make the quality of the PhD automatically better. That's his way of a bieving quality.
Which would you recommend instead of NLS? How's Jindal ? What's the fees for non-net ? Do they give a stipend?
Why not anymore ?? Which would you recommend instead ?
When it comes to management of PhD coursework and scholars, how do you see the performance of the current NLSIU VC in comparison with either his predecessor(s) or his fellow contemporaries in other NLUs?
Had you asked me 2 years ago, I'd have still recommended NLSIU. But not anymore.
They're in the editorial boards for some of them. And you can get valuable insights if you present your work in faculty seminars on Wednesdays. But no, not as helpful as say, JGLS
They are waiting to clear the backlog of candidates pending from earlier years before admitting too many new ones
Have elaborated. Commenting because it got lost in the sea of discussions.
How is publishing situation for research scholars at NLSIU? Law already has a very small selection of SCOPUS journals. Are the research advisors helpful in assisting in that process for students?
No need for ad hominems here. Let us wait until the fellow can elaborate on their opinion.
There are many LI posts talking about PhD at NLSIU at present. Please check the archive if you want to know.
Since when is DM a human rights guy? Matlab kuchh bhi!
How hard did you have to work to fail and become bitter like this?
As Barkha Dutt once beautifully said to that TMC lowlife (forgot his name), 'Stop being a troll'.
No. NLS shouldn't be at the top here. PhD scholar at NLS here.
NLSIU > NLUD > NALSAR > SLS, Pune > Faculty of Law, DU
Thanks a lot. If you had to rank them in order of preference for a PhD on human rights. Which university would be better in terms of available faculty?
Has anyone cleared UGC NET with a JRF ? Could you advice how ? It's my 3rd time clearing NET, but I can't seem to clear JRF. I need money for PhD.
