Nothing but inflated ego from the ruins of colonial hangover. Sad that some people focus on trivial things despite holding such an esteemed position in society.
It unfortunately happens all across the country in High Courts. If I wasn't stopped by an Advocate while I was opening my bottle, would have happened to me as well while I was interning at Calcutta High Court.
That's because we never got freedom, the power was transferred from princely states to British Empire and then to brown Sahebs.
These so called Lordships have zero merit and sense, they occupy the chair because they are related to someone who used to be part of collegium and they will appoint similar people. They are disconnected with people.
Even Europeans who they try to copy aren't that Admant about something like this but the fragile ego of our own Brown Sahebs can't take it.
What is one supposed to do? Die of thirst?
