I have read quite a few comments here regarding it so is it that bad as it's facing a lot of flack from people here. Does the college live up to its identity as that of an NLU? Also is a partial drop advisable or I just work very hard for the next 5 years?

HNLU is a good college. It can be considered the best among the T2 NLUs. Keep your batch rank high and you will get a T1 placement for sure.

Worse than tnlu

It is not? It has managed to be the only stable tier-2 over the years with consistent placement records. The only thing that stopped them from becoming a tier 1 college is their location.
