Can one transfer from having experience of research work and policy in fintech/ or any other field but has no law firm exp, can one switch to law firm with research exp?

i know someone who moved from a policy thinktank to a privacy consultancy recently. so the shift is possible. but then again IMO its very team-to-team and domain-specific.

@whyiscaptainholtsostiff which firm can you pls specify? also if possible can you tell here how? I know since you can't name them here it would be very helpful if you could ask for some tips and give them :-) asking very desperately!!!
