No, they are so selective with feedback and will tell you that they hire from Day 0 rather than PPO.
nujs 3rd years freaking out about s&r opening apps through rpc is SO REAL
Exactly, almost all tier ones have finished recruiting third years for this year from our college. Is that the case for everyone? For us, the notices went out in December itself. Only AZB is left
Pros and cons to both. S&R isn’t present in many practice areas so chances of being pigeon-holed very early in your career remain high. At SAM, in the very least with the rotation, you’ll get some exposure and flexibility. It is only getting more and more difficult to switch practice areas without paying a price for it in terms of remuneration/experience/both. SAM might also be a better idea if lit/LLM is part of your plans or possibilities. The Amarchand name somehow keeps living on. And the view from SAM Bombay office is to die for.

That said, S&R is the gold standard in what it does so if you’re that sure or that indifferent about what your practice will be, S&R is by far the best place to be. It is also reasonably ahead of other firms in terms of pay, at least at a junior to mid level. In terms of consistency of quality across teams and levels, S&R is great because of its small size and selective hiring. There’s a lot of emphasis on quality which is difficult for a SAM/CAM/KCo to achieve because of the differences in size and volume. S&R overall is also a more professional firm.

My personal advice would be to choose SAM. 15-16 lakhs is not less money, and you can always make a move later. Don’t base career choices on one month internships. Best to cast the net wide early on.
