Anyone who's given UGC NET. How tough or tricky is it ? Is it based on luck ? How different is it from NLUs PhD entrance exam ? Is tougher than AILET PhD papers ? Is it completely a luck based exam ? Can I clear it in 3 months prep ?
Luck element is needed. It's not about difficulty, but the complete random nature of the questions. You may be asked the citation of a case which you have never heard of in your life. Some of the questions may have all 4 wrong options. Stick to going through one good guidebook, the basic textbook for each of the subjects, and then solve as many mocks as you can. I was lucky to have managed to clear it the first time around, but honestly I don't know what I had done right.
I agree. It's so freaking unpredictable. Didn't prepare 1st attempt, missed by 5 marks. Next attempt prepared the best, got 30 marks less than the first attempt 😅 have no idea what to do for the next attempt.
