Do NLUs provide hostel accomodations for PhD candidates ? How are they treated in the campus ? I know LLMs are considered bottom of the pile. What about PhDs ? I've heard that NLUD and NUJS does not provide accomodation for PhDs. Moreover they exist like ghosts in the campus. No one knows who they are except their faculty in charge, or if they're TAs.
NUJS provides accommodation for outstation PhD scholars at present in the new hostel along with BSc LLB and LLM students. There are also fellowships available which are JRF equivalent. Not sure what else you meant by the second part. If you aren't teaching the students nor interacting with them, then why would anyone else take interest in what you do? As in, are you there to win a popularity contest or do your research?
LLBs are the products, LLMs are the by-products, and Ph. Ds are the waste products.
That sums up the research culture at the state NLUs.
