Have been allotted NUJS in the present list, but will most likely get nalsar in subsequent lists. Which college should i choose? Placements are my priority.
If placements are all you care about then there's no reason to leave NUJS. Their placements are great, sometimes even better than NLS and NALSAR. However the campus infra at NUJS is horrible, there is a shortage of hostel rooms and whatever is available is also in bad shape. If you're a Kolkata local then it probably won't matter much as you can stay at home but if not, this is something to keep in mind.
if placements are your priority then choose nujs, which has been consistent in placing the supermajority of its students in tier 1 firms

the difference is about 15% in comparison to nalsar, so if you are confident that you can be within the top 50% of the batch then take nalsar, however, if you feel that you can be in the top 65% then take NUJS
If placements are your priority, then either choice will suit you fine. If you want bigger campus, more stable admin, NALSAR would be better. Faculty are comparable, maybe NALSAR has a slight edge. NUJS campus is right in the middle of a metro city, the student body is more involved in admin decision making. You are fortunate to have both the options, really.
both are same for placements, go for the one with the stronger alumni or other factors like academic stress, infra, etc i'd say

nalsar is better
Papa Ranvir did the nasty back in 2008 and 9 months later...there it was!
If you care nothing more, and simply nothing one bit more than getting a job (and that too a corporate job, perhaps at a law firm), may be NUJS is a safer option. the placements there appear to be better than NALSAR.

but if you care about getting educated, if you want to explore law, learn, expose yourself to different ways of thinking about the law and grow as a person go to NALSAR. the academic environment there is far superior to that of NUJS. NALSAR also has placements and if you perform reasonably well, you will also get a job. but then, after five years of legal education, you might not want to do corporate law. you might want to do different things, which we can predict now. NALSAR will offer you that wider world. NUJS will hardly do that.
β€˜Appear to be better than nalsar’- wow such a great logic man. Yes yes abolsiteky, you should choose nujs because it β€˜appears’ to be better. Just take nalsar
Can you please mention which type of legal career NALSAR grads excel in that doesn't have NUJS grads too? Because be it litigation, policy body work, academics, management, entrepreneurship, civil services, lower judiciary, there is no type of career that does not have NUJS grads having chosen and excelling in that too. It is quite surprising to see so many people commenting on matters here that they don't appear to have any clue about. Perhaps that's why they remain anon.
