Trilegal is the best in this practice area. Never heard of any big firm apart them in this sphere.
JSA's Joint Managing Partner Amit Kapur is an expert in this and probably the most renowned practitioner in this field (law firm perspective)
Isn't HSA actually built only on this practice with HS specializing in it?
Saraf is also in this space now with Alok Shankar - ex Luthra and ex HSA.
Good area to explore but is already dominated by established practitioners and firms. Hard to crack the money-making code for new entrants as almost all the disputes are about the regulator vs. XYS-rich company, which means they only want the lawyers already established in the business and will not try their chances with new ones.
From what I've heard it's very technical even more so than tax and a relatively less populated field
Plenty of work, start with the chambers/ team of someone who is well established in this sector and eventually you'll make a name- especially if you pick up on the engineering aspects of electricity litigation.
Neeti Niyaman, MSA, Charter Law, Ritam Legal and SKV are good boutique firms to start off with. Aniket Prasoon, Sourav Roy, Mazag Andrabi and Parinay Deep Shah are known litigators with good clients in this field.
