In fact I am working as an inhouse counsel in Kolkata, and even if we engage Khaitan, we speak to Mumbai team and not the Kolkata one.
20k is almost 4 times than what they offer to freshers XD
Would be nice if they gave out increments and arrears first
I am soon going to be an assessment intern at F&M. Do you know which partner(s) these are and can u clarify if this is F&M or FM
Most of the transactional work Kolkata offices do are outsourced from Delhi or Mumbai offices.
Sinha and Victor Moses are anyway not in the picture. They offer like 20k/month
Yes, Kolkata is also the only place where there is a presence of law firms in the Eastern part of India. So it's not just about WB. The Kolkata office caters to the work of neighboring states as well
Plus there are other bengali associates in Mumbai/Delhi who will shift to Saraf, Kolkata unless they reduce their pay for Kolkata office!
Been a part of two of the firms mentioned above, can tell, you are wrong. One of the firms you mentioned as go-to has literally no work in corp.
Seems interesting. With the Calcutta stock exchange coming back in action next year and the green hydrogen and power investment by the state government is going to bring Kolkata as the next hub for projects and infrastructure sector.
Khaitan, Argus, SAM and F&M dominates the market. Kolkata is an untouched market and there is a lot of potential for Saraf if they can undercut a bit. There is a lack of competition in the market
Once heard trilegal planned to open one . Then nothing came off it.
All that they need to do is pay Argus people more to shift. A law firm is all about people.
Argus dominates in Kolkata, they want even stand a chance.
Disputes, shipping, and real estate. A couple of team hires from F&M. Talks are underway. Dark days coming up for Fox Mandal, Sinha, Victor Moses etc.
Even I heard that they will be opening a Kolkata office, only disputes team though
Is it true that Saraf is opening an office in Kolkata? Many insiders are saying so
