I will be participating in GLC's Dastur Moot next year in around May and June. Problem is, I am still a third year, and won't have Taxation laws till 8th Sem. I don't know T of Tax laws, absolutely nada. Never taken even a single tax laws class. I am as good as an 8th grader when it comes to this.
Any recommendations wrt what i should read, watch or listen that will take me from "taxes. what are those?" to being able to actually apply concepts and make arguments for the moot?
Only law subjects I have dealt with are torts, contracts, IPC, CRPC, Personal Laws, CPC, Evidence, Consti and Admin Law. Please help, i really need to get something out of this moot for my cv.
pick up any popular textbook and start reading from page 1. you'll find your way around. this is what i did when i had moot in my second year on public international law - picked up brownlie and started from page one. It worked for me and should work for you.
can anyone confirm if this will work for Tax Law? I am very scared of the subject and don't want to get anymore intimidated by picking up a book. Also, suggest books while you're at it. I am clueless.
