It's not just T1 firms which have toxic work culture. Small firms can be as toxic.

The managing partner also is one of the nicest humans that you will encounter in this profession. The stories may or may not be true but there is no denying that after working in SEBI for almost a decade, he knows the securities law field inside out. He also treats all associates and interns with respect, which for me is a thing missing in most tier 1 law firm teams. He also takes you out for nice lunches and team retreats. He also does not hold you back in case you want to leave and join a tier 1 firm or a litigation chamber, in fact he's supportive of that. For me, that is hallmark of a great boss.
Not everything is rosy, that is true. The work hours are tough (about 10 am to 9 pm) but the managing partner is also there grinding out with you. In my view, after having worked in 3 different offices, I believe it is a tough profession and if you want to make it big then you need to spend a number of hours working and reading. If you are ready to devote a substantial number of hours to this profession and want to work in the securities law field, then Regstreet is the place to be. However, please note that you will need to be able to bare it out for at least a year before you are able to make a mark in this firm.

Actually I found him to be more knowledgeable than partners even in tier 1s. He knows his stuff, he is capable. He is generally sweet▮▮▮. Pay is not bad its average, but if you are joining here you can learn something and jump ships after a few years.
He is quite extroverted. I find him better than unapproachable seniors he spends time with jrs. He is too open to juniors and interns. He boasts but the guy is helpful and is a decent person. I would also rate his work quality as good, from people whom I know.
The Cyril Amarchand story should be correct. He should have been given an offer to join as a non equity partner. He worked in SEBI for a decade. Many lawyers at SEBI are invited to join law firms as partners. So it's not that big of deal. But most ex sebi lawyers suck at getting business. Also even now this guy wont join a law firm because at his firm he makes most of the money and wont have to split a penny.
Morgan Stanley story should be correct - a decade ago there was a dearth of people with some inside knowledge of sebi/rbi etc. Not anymore. So he probably got an offer. For a giant bank he will just be another employee on the payroll. That crore offer means nothing for them.
So while he doesn't lie, he boasts and makes realistic things unbelievable.
On a personal note - Whomever put this story it's kind of unprofessional - turning some funny private moments into public shitposting.
Sandeep Parekh has GREAT hold over SEBI matters in litigation. I dont feel the learning curve is better in Regstreet.

Trilegal and ELP also has a separate exclusive FRS practise area which is into consulting + litigation. Do dig more.
2. As someone said mentorship depends on both mentor and mentee. However, if you are seeking mentorship try to understand working style of the partner and their personality and assess if that matches yours. For some what is inspirational others it can be toxic.
3. Pay is not remotely close to T1 firms. From what I know it is way lower than Finsec, Trilegal and other firms with FRP Team. Even in securities litigation pay is much better is some other firms like LawPoint and MDP.
4. Small boutique firms allow greater interaction with clients than bigger firms. However, quality of clientele determines the quality of work and again that is something you have to determine. Their SAT practice is not that big and are seen once a month or so. Apparently their SEBI practice is much better. Haven't heard much about their work in banking so is more of a securities firm
5. Being a single partner firm it is more of a counsel practice
