NLUs are run by staunch conservative thinkers who have to pretend to be occasionally 'progressive'. If you have no connections in the admin or are the female accused of such a thing, unfortunately, your days are numbered in the organisation.
Most of the Ivy League universities also have got policies against this. Are they too run by people who are regressive?
A young NUJS faculty has been known for having dated more than one LLB student. Nothing official but most people on campus knew about this. He has left the university since then.
Mnlu had one professor who openly dated and flirted with a student
Yet another gem of a conversation which the LI mods are happy to engage with. For all you suckers here, this is India. Not the West. Dating even in the same age group is slippery and awkward, forget these kind of "relationships".
A teacher in NALSAR is currently married to a PhD scholar at the university, who also pursued her LLM at the University, with the former having taught the latter during her Master's. To make matters slightly more grey, the student was also the teacher's teaching assistant.
Top NLU, mid-2010s - first hand witness to two separate relationships between alumni faculty and students (one Rockstar alum, one high profile in certain policy circles alum, both male; women both in 4/5th year).
Had a prof hit on a few second years, everything about it was creepy and gross, and he was old enough to be their parent. Pretty sure someone filed a complaint because he did not teach again the next semester at our university.
Most good POSH/ICC policies will bar it outright. It's not the age differential which matters here, but the power differential. Faculty have a lot of power over students and even administrative processes.
Please keep our s*x life personal, don't throw it in public.
Age differences don’t matter these days. It’s so common to see celeb couples where the GIRL is 7-10 years older than the guy. Thus, it’s fine to date your teachers and fine to ask them out, as long as you are respectful and there is no favouritism in grading.
As long as we are dealing with hypothetical conditions, let's add as long as they say no.
