We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Permit e-filing in all High Courts for all kinds of matters. Everything should become computer based - filing and refiling of all pleadings including additional documents, scrutiny, registration, verification etc. There must be a real time update on the website. Helpline numbers must be made available.
Every court must publish links in their Cause List. Every District Court must have a e-seva kendra where there will be trained staff that can assist in filing cases and other pleadings.
This way, not only will SC be accessible to all, but all courts will be accessible to everyone. Not only will a lawyer from Kerala , Arunachal, Gujarat, Jammu be able to practice in SC, but lawyers in Delhi can also practice in all these High Courts.
Why is there a need for circuit bench when we can and we must have e-courts accessible from everywhere?
The problem is - everyone wants Supreme Court in their state, but nobody wants their HC to have benches or even video conferencing. During covid, lawyers from Delhi had a field day as they appeared almost everywhere. Because of Covid, most top SC lawyers are now regularly appearing across forums all over India. It should continue.
But there will come a time when the legal infrastructure of Delhi would also crumble. And there cannot be space for everyone coming in.
Doesn't this raise few essential questions:
1) What is BCI doing to create paid opportunities in other High Courts (especially Rajasthan, MP, CG, UP, Bihar) so that people don't have to migrate to the Tier 1 cities.
2) Whether the idea of establishing circuit benches of SC can be a way to rationalise the younger lot to work in different parts of the country.
Whatever be the case, an overhaul is needed.IG.
