In a rare piece of good news, Shubhankar Dam, star NUJS alum and well-respected for his work on constitutional law and judicial actions, has recently agreed to take up the position of a Visiting Professor at his alma mater, NUJS. Sources say that Prabhash Ranjan, ex-faculty of NUJS and JGLS and currently with SAU, one of the most prolific legal scholars in India in terms of publications in International Investment Law and Trade Law, has also agreed to take up a similar position. There is also another alum currently teaching abroad who might have accepted the same position, but I couldn't get the name confirmed. Hopefully, these people can help bring back some of the academic rigour that has gone missing from NUJS, and get the students realise what they are missing by not insisting that the admin only hires quality faculty in positions permanent or contractual.
