I knew a guy who after a year (BSC) at IISC (getting in here is already a lifetime achievement lol) opted NLSIU. He only studied for two weeks relating to clat and got into NLS from IISC. After a month, he discontinued his studies at nls and opted for UC Berkeley to study philosophy. His SAT score was brilliant and he only prepped for say- a month? And now he is killing it there as well. My question how is this possible? That dude cracked several prestigious exams (from science to humanities and law) and that too within a short span of time. Do you need superhuman IQ for this? Or just gorgeous focus??
if you've cracked any competitive science exam in India, then something like CLAT is a cakewalk for you. I mean CLAT is one of the easiest competitive exams in the one of the most competitive nations. But this dude does seem intelligent, juggling through these exams of different fields and acing them as well.
Actually no. The guy attempted CLAT the same year he sat for the JEE exam (the one where you get a IISC rank) without zero prep (can't blame cause the former is really tough as you mentioned) and yet he couldn't pass. Next attempt he just studied for 2 weeks and made into NLS. This was quite surprising. I did not believe this at first but he did show signs of photographic memory which stunned some of us.
Totally disagree. I know at least two of my friends who gave IIT and CLAT at the same time but failed to get an NLU, but did get a lower IIT. I also know one senior from my law school who made it to an IIT and yet chose law. You need to study properly for CLAT, it's not like you studied PCM the whole year and get up one fine morning on the day of CLAT exam and go on cracking it.
I know a person who was supposed to get a AIR under 70 in both of his attempts but messed up badly in his OMR due to him being casual. Dudeβs giving the exam again this year. Look out for him. He studied only for couple of days (and I ainβt even kidding). The thing is that the exam is tough but for some people focus becomes their deadly force to crack these exams.
This person seems like a real deal. But more than focus I feel this person has some crazy aptitude. Else there wouldnβt be a mistake in the OMR sheet. All in all, aspirants should definitely lookout.
It's the later. You have no idea about how the right focus can help you and transform you into a beast. Many high IQ people don't realize their abilities just because they get distracted easily..i saw a guy from NIT Tirchy acing CAT and XAT just studying for a week. He did not focus much on his coaching at Times but when he did study, it was about his dominance. Studying 3 hours and utilizing quality focus within that specific time is much more beneficial than slogging for 10-11 hours and barely focusing on vital practice.
I know focus is the key. But as a 4th year in a college with pathetic crowd. How do I retain the focus? Like I am focused on 2 days out of 6. But seeing everyone around the focus and energy dips, I feel the I'm the odd one out sitting in the library weirdly for no reason. I have an inner drive for sure and I know I'm more resilient than the others, but how do I focus for long periods like 3 months?
I know several people this year who bagged nls within a monthβs study and opted for Brown/Duke and that too in varied science majors. You can even check their SAT scores which were brilliant.
Then there is Somesh taori who cracked Oxford the same year he cracked clat (AIR 83)
See as far I can understand it's the matter of skill sets which this person has developed over the years. From the JEE Exams, he must have developed great analytical and reasoning skills, from the Clat, he must have developed great English and Critical Reasoning Skills and ultimately, these skills such as analytical, reasoning, and English skills helped the person crack the SAT. So, it's more of a skill-based thing.
