Any firm that has lost not one but three equity partners in less than 6 months is obviously not only on decline but in free fall to ruin. One of the EPs who left, Aarti, took the whole Chennai practice with her and the JMPs had to scramble to hire the first person who'd join them in Chennai (former JSA partner).
The thought process is to take the cheapest route to anything, cut costs everywhere except for EPs.
