There was recently a newspaper article posted on LI which mentioned that Paridhi Adani attended finishing school in Switzerland. I guess that as a future Adani bahu, about to rub shoulders with top CEOs and heads of state at Davos, such training was thought necessary even if she came from a super-elite family. But what about ordinary NLU grads? They may not make it to Davos, but they have to interact with elite clients, dine at luxury hotels, impress potential clients at seminars etc. Shouldn’t they to be trained in skills like accent and diction, making conversation, writing emails, dressing well, hair styling, ordering the right wine and single malt etc etc?? Such things undoubtedly make an impression and NLU grads irrespective of backgrounds maybe be unaware of them. I also wonder if law firms provide such training in-house to new associates?
