i am a penultimate year law student from onbe of the top NLU's in India . I am a transgender woman and i am really paranoid about my employment . I have been told that i have to cut my hair short and present as a man if i want to work in corporate by well meaning seniors . I am really paranoid about the whole situation and would be highly grateful if some good people at management level could throw some light on it if theyre seeing it . Please be reasonable , civil and considerate while you engage in a discusiion , have a great day ahead .

There will be a major difference in terms of appearance though, so the two situations may not be comparable. As in, I detest prejudice of all kinds and see no reason why a professional cannot simply be judged on the basis of their work, but sadly, people sharing such thoughts are still in the minority in this profession.

This has been asked before and answered. There's clearly no validating hug box forthcoming from this community. I'm sympathetic toward you- but I suggest you find what you need within. Grooming standards would not be considered transphobic but largely- if they hire you when you're presenting feminine- thats how they will expect you to show up to work everyday and it should largely go okay unless there are issues with performance. Law firms only care about the bottom line- nothing else.
