1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

I have had opportunity to sit on the other side of the table finally. Why are law students so incompetent these days? Half of them aren't able to write a paragraph without a hint of ChatGPT. Yar I will be happy if you are able to atleast hide the basic AI plagiarism checks, it's literally so apparant. Most of them don't know the meaning of a director in a company. They don't know basic English while explaining a concept? Mostly all of them begin to use complicated corporate terminology to explain simple terms like share capital to appear knowledgeable but fail to answer a scenario based question on the subject. Is something rotting from within? In my time I remember everyone atleast reading their own CV before an interview. Have people taken interviews as guarantees for jobs? please atleast read your CV even if you've faked it, which is very easy to discern tbh. Nobody is getting you to "advise the shareholders on the QIP". Par agar likhe ho, toh is it unreasonable to expect ki QIP ke regulations kahan hai, and its difference from IPO or PP. I didn't ask you Linklaters questions like FPI doing QIP in NBFC gone IPO types.
Is there a reason McKinsey stopped coming to NLS? Is there a reason for the dwindling number of VCs offered? and the general decline in PPOs and placements as well, even in a good market as now? Can partners attest to this, or is it just me being too cynical and critical? With more complex mandates coming in everyday, how can I train these students who are not willing to glance through ICDR chapters or a DRHP once or Companies Act?
Its honestly really hard to hire good candidates who I can trust with 10% of the work by delegating it.
1. Are my exp too high?
2. Have law students always been like that?
3. Did AI ruin all creativity and academic writing skills?
4. Is it wrong to test reasoning skills? Are their exams like that? No issue spotting?
5. Why dont they have commercial awareness? I can excuse this though. But I remember me and my friends scouring through papers reading up all recent events and scams before an Interview.
6. While I understand many people are not proficient in English, but basic sentence formation? How will they draft internal mails or call clients?
7. How are top law firms becoming so lax in offering internships these days? Or is usage of contacts on the rise? I read tier 1 M&A internships on a guy who couldn't answer differences between a private and public company? In my time firms would have very rigorous standards and we would rant endlessly.
8. Attitude, okay hear me out, I understand the 20s to 25 guy/ gal and their general persona and what they think of themselves, full of youth and energy. Not jealous, no hard feelings, nothing of this sort. But what's with the "I couldn't care less for law firms" attitude in a law firm interview? Also you applied to be at this table; read your own CV? I know law firm culture is bad and wlb is bad and all, but prepare HR questions? okay say the truth, I admire the honesty, but formulate proper English sentences?
