I have heard that trilegal banglore and NDA Mumbai are the best ? If so which partners? Also are there other firms and partners in the tmt domain who do great work and have a decent culture?
Trilegal banglore and NDA both have amazing culture and their clients speak for themselves. The new crop of tri partners are exceptional like Jaideep and Jyotsna.
Itβs a fact. Ask anyone , trilegal tmt team is a beast with such nice people to work with . I have heard it from a friend. I hope to join it one day.
Not at all. Might look like it, but when I was interning that was the opposite of what I saw. Work wise from what ive gathered from associates, Indus and CAM have better work and clients hands down.
Trilegal Bangalore - large TMT team, range of high-quality work. Telecom has traditionally been a strong area (Nikhil Narendran). But they cover almost everything in tech and telecom.
NDA Mumbai/B'lore - practice not as good as it used to be. Most good people have moved out. Gowree Gokhale still holds fort and well. Particularly strong on media, gaming, IP.
Indus Bangalore - lot of startup work specifically, not so much of core tech. Used to have a lot of good gaming work, but the industry is weaker as of now.
Ikigai Law - Delhi/B'lore - range of high-quality work. Very good in data, fintech, digital assets and government tech policy work. Each of these practices are run by specific partners, so heavy specialisation.
Kocchar - traditionally strong on telecom.
SRL - Good team for fintech, do a lot of data work also. But you may end up working not so much with the partners directly.
Obahn - emerging practice.
TMT Law - lot of telecom, health-tech and disputes work. Abhishek Malhotra is good, rest of team is ok.
AZB - Rohan Bagai's team is good in fintech. Other practice areas are not as strong.
Khaitan/JSA/Luthra/Saraf - avoid their tech teams.
Trilegal and Ikigai Law, Not SAM. Trilegal, if you want to work in Bangalore and Ikigai for Delhi, though their Bangalore outfit is also good, but much smaller. I disagree with the earlier note on JSA. the firm has one of the older and well-regarded tmt practices.

SAM/CAM - I don't have as much visibility.
