Hi friends, I had some questions about the YIF . Maybe it's known as India's Rhodes scholarship, maybe it's not. But I just want answers to these questions. Tks.

1. Whether it's prestigious and useful enough for NLU grads to apply for it instead of doing a job or an LLM. For example, will the YIF lead to jobs at McKinsey? I can see McKinsey listed among the recruiters.

2. What degree is awarded? MA from Ashoka?

3. The website says you have to pay fees but can get financial aid. Not sure what this is about. Isn't a fellowship supposed to be free? What is the fee? It's not mentioned on the site.

4. Have there been many NLU grads who have been selected for the YIF? Know of anyone? Any success stories? On the site they have the list of current fellows. I spotted 4 girls who studied law:

- One girl from Amity

- One girl from DU

- One girl from NLU Tamil Nadu

- One girl from NLU Ranchi who did her master's from Nottingham Uni

5. Will the recent woke image of Ashoka reduce the prestige of this programme? The crowd seems nice. Some of the people have studied in brand name colleges like St Stephen's, Hindu, LSR, SRCC, NIFT and even Vanderbilt, Warwick and USC. But there are mostly girls and lots of BA grads, so perhaps a humanities-type crowd and associated ideology?

So worth applying for this?? ๐Ÿค”
Who calls it โ€˜Indiaโ€™s Rhodes Scholarshipโ€™ - matlab kuch bhi ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
nooo. its a scam. Its a post graduate diploma in liberal studies or something NOT an MA. this is all marketing. Obvi its not better than doing a real llm from a good university. its not gonna lead to great jobs either for the majorit of the people. Ive met people who did this thing and really regretted wasting the money and the time. Dont do it. Dont buy the marketing.
