It's challenging to afford it with an associate's salary. In fact, the membership fees will still be quite burdensome even with an entry-level T1 partner's salary.
Dude, 20 lakhs is nothing for a partner, even an entry level one. The problem is not the money but the fact that membership is by invitation. If it was open to all then thousands of lawyers would join.
like Trudeau you are in over your head. A t1 salary partner makes around 60-80 lpa on avg. Thats good money, but not taj chambers membership money. See the rates above. By invitation is a lie. Anyone one with doe gets inπ€£
Only an idiot will spend more than one-fourth of his/ her salary for a Taj Chambers Membership. People who make Counsel/ Partner at firms like Trilegal are more often than not, not idiots.
What about Soho House? I was struck by this article by Vir Sanghvi, where he says he is a Soho House members and has access to all Soho Houses worldwide.
Any lawyers members? The cost is Rs 1 crore I am told. That's 5 times the fee of Taj Chambers!
Partners on average have 60 l salary and 1 cr expenditure (emis on cars, house, school fees for children, etc). So yes, most can't afford shit, let alone ostentatious memberships
Any Trilegal is a best paymaster at all levels (helps that there is no family that needs to hoard all the profits)
But yes most T1 partners do generally make atleast 75L-1cr as the starting salary. [Source:https://www.ambitionbox.com/salaries/khaitan-and-co-salaries/partner?campaign=salaries_widget]
