I have an interview lined up with DSK Delhi office for Lit. Should I reconsider?
Ghar Wapasi is better than Ghar ki ladai.
Ladai Ladai maaf karo....
Only way for L&L to move ahead is for AL to leave it alone, and fire LV and RB, and HC to become another partner with an elected MC.
Leading their loyalists to doom? Or rather sit out on taking salary (both LL & DSK) for their ‘loyalists’.
Facts:
1. After MS and VS, they wanted to gobble up their share in the lit side.
2. They wanted a bigger share of the entire pie in the rejigged L&L
3. When RKL rebuked their efforts, they rallied other against RKL with false narrations/stories
4. When they had no choice to leave, they threatened leaving and their bluff was caught by RKL
5. They wanted to break L&L Lit completely (to avenge against RKL) so offered high salaries to 'literally' everyone and promised work with a 'guarantee of work and pay for atleast 2 years'. Only 50 in L&L accepted their offer knowing their earlier stands (like cutting salaries in Covid while the firm revenue remained mostly stable and they still made a nice nifty profit at the end of the year)
6. When all of it was backfiring at DSK because they never had a concrete plan, they said we never promised anything to anyone, so anyone who was 'mislead' by us can leave. They refused to even share the burden of 25% salaries as no team was meeting targets. 'Loyalists' shifted from LL DSK to DSK.
7. If they leave, then why are not the 'Loyalists' of 50 people moving with them to their new venture? Maybe ask the 'loyalists' who have already shifted to other firms the truth? Because they now understand that they were beautifully played. HSC and SS can retire today, maybe the 'loyalists' still need money to pay their expenses and EMI's.
I hear that ▮▮▮ is already looking out ▮▮▮
After the split, a significant number of rainmakers moved with MS to SnP. While SnP is not killing it, they are doing fairly well.
On the other hand, consumed by greed, HSC and SS tried to pull off an MS and went to DSK with 60 "loyalists" who made the mistake of trusting them. When the time came to put money where their mouth was, they backed out, and the experiment failed. HSC and SS are now pariah for T1 / T2 law firms. In the process, not only did they finish themselves, but they also finished the careers of most people who made the move with them.
The result is clear - when the time came to put money where the mouth is - only MS could pull it off. All other equity partners of erstwhile LnL Partners are either deceased or deceased professionally. MS is the last man standing.
1. Entire L&L group were given the target of 2x of the team cost. (whereas others in DSK have the targets of 3x annually)
2. All the other partners (except LL) when they joined DSK were given the target of 3x, which is the industry standard. (referring to Dua and HSA partners)
3. HC and SS were given equity in DSK.
4. HC and SS agreed to put in their money if the target is not met for entire LL group.
5. In march everyone was asked to pull up there sleeves as it was year end.
6. In May the target was reduced to 1.5x and 1 month extra was given.
7. Many partners failed (only in LL group)
8. Less than 2 cr was short from the 1.5x target.
9. HC and SS refused to pay up.
10. Heard that one of them bought a property of 50 cr earlier this year.
11. LL group salaries were stopped. Everyone was requested to complete targets first. (later everyone got each penny of their salaries)
12. LL group was sad as HC and SS didnt pay up.
13. HC and SS was also not willing to discuss the same with AD. LL partners kept on waiting that they will talk to AD but they didnt.
14. One partner left and started his own IPR practice. AD talked to him asking to stay but he refused.
15. Financial year ended and equity money got distributed.
16. 2 months later HC and SS resigned and started their own firm along with 3 other partners.
17. Others partners who were left with DSK are getting on their feet and are being well supported by AD with international clients.
