All the hate comments against the Kol office seems to come from a single disgruntled intern. I have interned in Kol, del and mumbai offices of Lks. My native is kol. And let me tell you, initially I also thought kol might not be good and interned in their mum and del offices and in the final semester, i just thought I'll try the kol office. However, the experience was certainly better than the del and mum internships. They have moved to a bigger, fancy space and the team size is quite good. They do IDT and DT lit and advisory apart from IPR and few Commercial lit matters. Unlike del and mum office there are no separate teams and everyone works in all areas. So the exposure is quite high and everyone is so helpful and humble which is contrasting to other firms in Kolkata. The internship experience was so fulfilling and I wanted to join there but life had other plans and I joined a Gen corp of a diff firm in a diff city. But if I had an option, I wouldve joined there. Also from my conversations with associates there, the pay is on par with del and mum and maybe even more in some months if they exceed the billing targets. The best part is that even associates appear independently before the tribunals and high courts which was quite shocking for me. So, don't fall for the hate comments in LI and miss out a good opportunity.
