Often, LI accepts threads to be made on firms and partners. LI receives a lot of comments but does not post many due to them probably being personal.

Example, yesterday there was a thread on an infamous partner in a firm recently accused of being toxic. LI received a lot of comments, did not post most of them. Subsequently LI deleted the thread. However, it kept the thread subsisting for a long period of time, within which it would have personally reviewed a lot of unfiltered comments and received insider info.

So if LI planned to anyway delete it, it should have done so in the beginning? But it decided to receive a lot of comments instead. Nothing wrong with this but just saying.
Good questions, thanks for asking.

1. It's sometimes not possible to tell in advance which direction a thread will take, and we try to react quickly and fairly when we receive reports of threads. After a while, we had locked that specific thread, since it became a little over the top in its trolling. The post has now been republished, though obviously (as usual) trollish comments (from both sides of the spectrum), have not been published.

2. In respect of what we would do with insider info: what would / could we do with insider info? In part, we might 'use' insider info in order to inform future moderation decisions and to assess the plausibility of other posts, whether there is a concerted trolling campaign going on right now on a subject, or whether there is something real going on.

But if you are implying something more nefarious that we could use with insider trollish comments, do let us know, it might give us ideas :)
