Hey everyone! I was wondering if I should be taking the course on arbitration by JSA offered on SkillXpro. Is there anyone else who has taken it who could share some insights? Also, can someone recommend some other sources to learn the basic drafting work related to arbitration? Also suggest some good places to take credit-based courses?
That platform is completely useless. Started as a fad, promised the sky, including internships from the firms whose partners they are supposedly roping in for the courses, but couldn't deliver at all. Went through one of the courses, what the instructors said could be obtained from the internet with some basic diligence. Waste of money.
If you're really interested in making a career in arbitration, then go for self reading and internships. One month of an internship can teach you far more than any certificate course. On macro level, arbitration and litigation are somewhat similar (those who practice would agree) and hence it becomes convenient to learn the basics directly from a someone who's a active arbitration practioner (if he also presides over any tribunal then consider it a bonus). For firm names, check Chambers & Partners list, and for lawyers you may do some independent assessment.
