Since as lawyers, we end up spending 12-14 hours in office, itβs also important where we work and what facilities we get. Also, travelling in Mumbai is a big headache so wanted to understand the office infrastructure in Mumbai from people working there.
Iβll go first:
SAM office Mumbai
Pros:
Really fancy office housed in Nariman Point
Spacious cubicles for associates
Sea view: Office is Right at the edge of the sea, and even some associates have cubicles beside the glass walls overlooking the sea (as opposed to only partners having this view)
Cons
Corner of South Mumbai, so takes time to reach there/ expensive to take accommodation nearby
Waiting time bit long in the morning due to crowding in lifts
Bit isolated from other corporate firms in Lower Parel
JSA Mumbai
Pros
Housed in a quaint little building (old architecture) in a mostly government office dominated space
Almost entire building is occupied by JSA so easy access to all floors
Spacious cubicles for associates
Cons
Very isolated from other law firms in Lower Parel/ Fort
Extreme end of South Mumbai so expensive to find decent accommodation nearby
Small office size and No natural light as all outer ends are taken up by partner offices or conference offices. May feel stuffy at times
CAM / AZB - Lower Parel (corporate office)
Located in the same corporate park in Lower Parel, just 500 m across each other
Pros
Offices situated at the heart of Lower Parel, so easily accessible by local
Kamla Mills and Raghuvanshi mills + Phoenix mall nearby - places with high end restaurants and bars to chill after work
Possible to get accommodation in nearby buildings on rent although it is slightly pricey
Cons
Itβs AZB and CAM π
Anyway, do add to this list if you work in other big firms. Thanks.
I feel like law offices should have a gym in the same building atleast, if not within the office. Considering weβre expected to stay in the office the entire day and night, thatβs not a bad shout.
