Context: After the JU ragging death there are demands to install CCTV on the JU campus, per an SC judgement. Students are opposed to it, the real reason being that the college has a long tradition of smoking, drinking and weed. This girl is getting trolled for her comments. But the truth is that NLUs too have this tradition and are escaping scrutiny because they are not political like JU and JNU. So whatโs wrong with what the girl is saying? Also, itโs legal for colleges abroad to have bars. So isnโt a solution to regularise what is done underground and have designated places at campuses for smoking (tobacco, not weed) and drinking? I think we should support this girl! But only thing is that she is wrong on a legal point: smoking in public places in banned and the drinking age limit is 21. But thatโs a different issue.
Yes, I have sex in my home as well. There should be designated places on campus for me to have sex.
You go to the University to study and not to smoke/drink. An MP may consider the parliament as their 2nd home. Will he then be allowed to smoke and drink during the sessions?
This has always been the trend with JU. The ones who cause the problem lead the protests which is why they are always found protesting with no tangible change at all.
The girl (โฎโฎโฎ โฎโฎโฎ) has now issued an apology on Instagram (below) but she has nothing to apologise for. She was just expressing her opinion and the anti-woke brigade pounced on her. It's likely that the student union forced her to apologise, which is sad.
