GNLU just completed Day-1 of its 2 days placement record. With the dismal hiring trend even in NLS, NUJs, NLUJ, GNLU was the last remaining hope. However even as the shortlists and interviews happened it has been made more or less clear that it faces one of the driest placement season, as the offers are expected to be in the lowest range in the last decade
GNLU is now on a downslide, hope it does not slide below RGNUL and RML
I knew this would happen. The economy is in dire straits and Modi is not interested in pursuing reforms, having gone full socialist. Meanwhile Gen Z is busy fighting culture wars.
Modi is socialist? From which angle? He increases taxes when the market price of oil goes down to fill coffers and then spends the money building fancy parliament and doing PR.
GNLU riding high on the wave of 2022 and 2023 batch placements (which BTW were record breaking for every law school) opened up a branch in Silvassa branding it to be part of GNLU. There was absolutely no need and the students there will get scammed and waste money just like those taking admissions in MNLU must have felt thinking its in Mumbai which will benefit them.
No CLAT aspirant is so dumb that they will take admission in NLU Nagpur based on the perception that it shares anything with MNLU Mumbai. Being 1 year older, "MNLU" has become synonymous with MNLU Mumbai. Due to this, students and alumni of NLU Nagpur mostly use "NLU Nagpur" or "NLU-N" in their conversations. Even the university web address mentions "NLU Nagpur" (http://www.nlunagpur.ac.in/) and has a distinct logo, which is simply not the case with GNLU Silvassa.

However, my take is that it would be better if Government of Maharashtra amend the act and drop "Maharashtra" from the names of all three MNLUs. This will pave a way to independent identity of NLU Mumbai, NLU Nagpur and NLU Aurangabad.
my brother, all three MNLUs are not worth attending so your clarification seems irrelevant to me. Additionally, MNLU Mumbai came after MNLU Nagpur whereas Silvassa campus opened nearly 2 decades after GNLU.
If that is the case then no tier 3 NLU and most of the tier 2 NLUs are worth attending. Also, MNLU Mumbai did not come after NLU Nagpur. Mumbai in 2015, Nagpur in 2016 & Aurangabad in 2017, however the act which governs them, came in 2014.

Also, I was not arguing (in my previous comment) whether any MNLU is worth it or not.
NUJS has done phenomenally. The numbers are only little lower than last year with 32 people placed on DayZ.
Shush , donโ€™t count the PPOs, in that way NLS has wayyy more offers
32 is without PPOs. There have been another 35 PPOs and no, NLSIU has never done better than NUJS in placements in the last 7-8 years by any metric.
If you count the overall placements then all the top 4/5 NLUs have the same stats. NLS has placed around 35-40/80 (Including PPOs) while NUJS has placed 68/120. While NLS had called firms that pay around 18LPA to freshers, NUJS had called firms that pay in the range of 10-12LPA which is why their stats are slightly better.

The RCC'24 at NLS was โ–ฎโ–ฎโ–ฎ they did not bother invite good T2 and boutique firms for day Z which is why a good part of the batch got fked.
Fox offered 14 LPA. NLSIU called IUCL, which pays less than that, actually.
Exactly NLS didnโ€™t call tier-2/tier-3 law firms. Nujs did that. End of discussion.
Can someone shed light on what's the total number of people who got placed during day zero at GNLU?
To be honest can't blame GNLU for it but the actual numbers were 29/125 jobs secured on Day Zero
It's 60, 31+29. 60/125 and Day 1 still remains. More firms will be coming. The total number should be around 90s/125.
Oh troll, total number of ppl sitting for placements were 155 not 125. It's 60/155. And 29/125 on day Zero.
29 day zero and 19 PPOs, not 30. Still, a good show considering the market.
A total of 35+ offers, with 29 acceptances on Day Zero. 30+ PPOs already with many callback internships yet to happen.

That's almost 60 people, all in Tier firms as of now. Mind you, other firms/banks/companies are yet to come.

In a bad market, this is an extremely good number and no other law school apart from maybe NUJS has managed this many placements this year.

Repeating a lie a thousand times won't make it true.
29/125 students thik hai bhai. NLS has placed 22/55 students. This way, the placements at GNLU are not even close to NLS. aur bhai firm-wise breakup de na!
GNLU downfall started as most of the teachers, staff, registrar everyone is in silavasa always. No attention to our future. 29 job is lowest ever. Impact of gmu-silvasa
CAM Ahmedabad office saved GNLU. CAM gave less than 5 offers in all other NLUs but just due to no other NLU student showing interest for Ahmedabad office, GNLU was biggest hiring for CAM. Once Ahmedabad dislodges Mumbai as financial capital, people from NLS, NALSAR, NUJS, NLUD will also opt for the city. This year I have heard 2 NUJS grads and 1 NLUD graduate has already opted for CAM Ahmedabad over Noida/Mumbai.
