Can anyone recommend law firms in Kolkata that specialize in general corporate or PE/VC matters? Additionally, what additional qualifications would be beneficial for pursuing a career in these areas?

Kolkata is a smaller city so hirings happen on a 'as per need basis'. The requirements are the same as other law firms. You need better skills to match up since the no. of posts v no. of candidates ratio might give you stiff competition.
I forgot to add, some exposure in how to do real estate matters might help because Kolkata law firms do a significant amount of real estate work and often club it with general corporate.
