This this is an interesting ranking, because they have ranked region-wise and public/private-wise.

They obviously did so to avoid controversy, but then they have given the score achieved by each college, so it's easy to deduce the national ranking.

I am giving the the unified national top 10 below, by inference from the scores. Then the top 5 of each fragmented ranking below that. The national top 10 seems to correspond with student perception and public perception, with the exception of a high score for BHU. So perhaps this is the most realistic ranking so far, which have been full of WTF results?

NATIONAL TOP 10 (by inference from the scores)

1. NLSIU: 995

2. NALSAR: 992

3. NLUD 987

4. NUJS: 979

5. GNLU 964

6. NLUJ 957

7. NLIU 950

8. BHU 945

9. RMLNLU 923

10. MNLU 917

NORTH ZONE (GOVERNMENT): NLUD>NLUJ>BHU>RMLNLU>RGNUL

EAST ZONE (GOVERNMENT): NUJS>HNLU>NLUO>NLU Ranchi>CNLU

How is NLIU in the West Zone? And the private names are all messed up. South Calcutta is a government college for example. Bengal Law College is an obscure place. There are better private ones in the East like Xavier's.
Yep. South Calcutta is a government college. So they don't fit the bill. Even if we leave SXU out of this (because they are fairly new), we still have Amity who are doing better when compared to Calcutta University.

The east zone rankings are a bit screwed
All good, but with 2 changes:

1. Replace BHU with RGNUL

2. Replace MNLU with JGLS
GNLU and NUJS are close in terms of points. By next year GNLU should overtake NUJS in all rankings.
Just place GNLU over NUJS and replace BHU with HNLU. Then it’s a perfect ranking.
Hilarious. If Lloyd is the top private law school in North India, and BHU the third-top government law school, it seems there's not going to be any quality competition for lawyers anytime soon.
Every second magazine in India publishes such rankings. Don't waste your time.
The one constant in which ever ranking you see is that NLSIU is number one. NLSIU is simply in its own league and miles ahead of the competition . If Chandrachud upholds the Karnataka High Court verdict that only NLSIU is a national institution and others are state institutions, that will be the last nail in the coffin for the competition.
Conveniently missed out that CHRIST topped for private south. With fees way lesser than NLS and more facilities, go SLCU

Bangalore
Missed it and rightly so.

Christ has had a huge administration problem (discussed heavily on LI in the past), invigilators during online exams making inappropriate comments, and frankly the quality of education being imparted is mediocre.

Plus any institution which enforces dictatorial norms such as frowning upon western clothing or imposing fines for conduct which is normal everywhere else, is unfit to be on any ranking list, period.
Yay so NLU's impart such high quality? Yes the level of education is mediocre but the student achievements trump most NLU's. It's because of this tier 1's like Trilegal, SAM, CAM, AZB have actively hired from CHRIST over so called "tier 1 NLUs". Not everyone is privileged enough to spend a ton of fees just because it's an NLU.
Can you give me one example of someone who left NLS for Christ because of fees?
