The term of the President finishes in 2026. Chandrachud CJI will be the perfect replacement. He is erudite, steeped in the the law, he is learned and wise. There is no one better than him to occupy the office of the President of India.

I think the only reason why no CJI has ever been appointed as a President, is because, there is a fear amongst some that a Judge might become Judgemental.

Now having said that, I agree with the qualities mentioned hereinabove about the current CJI, which I am sure makes him a worthy candidate for the coveted post of President.

I only hope and wish, human being of great qualities occupy this coveted post, irrespective of their educational qualification, caste and gender.

nah He just gives speeches. Doesnt even think like a judge proper - repeats talking points while doing nothing of real value. no thanks.

I don't think judges can do anything more than "repeat taking points"

I don't know if this is possibly or will hapoen,but CJI DY Chandrachud could make for a great Presidential candidate.
