I reckon you stop consuming such media, you might end up having surreal expectations from whichever institute you go to for higher education. You won't find this BS anywhere. In top NLUs you won't even have to deal with verbal ragging or pranks, rather seniors positively interact with you ensure there's no power dynamics and you comfortably open up.
