This is obviously bad news for quality legal education. The last bastion of the CLAT NLU Consortium that resisted a domicile quota for the longest time has also now fallen. This means that now every CLAT NLU has a domicile quota.

At this point, NLU Delhi is the only NLU that still doesn't have one, but who knows how long that will last. Mind you, 10 years back, many top NLUs didn't even have a domicile quota (NLS, NUJS, NLUJ, etc). Who is to blame for this mess? Clearly, there is a lack of unity and common purpose to stop NLUs from being reduced to pawns of state politics.
