This is depressing and disgusting. Those of us who are economically centrist/right (which is the majority of the educated upper-middle class) voted for Modi because we expected a departure from Congress-style socialism. Modi promised "Minimum Govt Maximum Governance". Instead, he is giving us more of the same! No worthwhile privatisation other than Air India and a few airports in small towns. We overlooked cow belt Hindutva because we felt privatisation is the need of the hour. If Modi does not deliver on privatisation then he is betraying our trust!

What do you think, friends?
I too am disappointed but I will still vote Modi in 2024 as he is the lesser evil. The opposition will return India to the days of licence raj socialism. Unfortunately, the choice is between soft socialism and hard socialism. Better to go for the former.
Lesser evil? What good has he done for the economy other than trying to derail it every now and then with stupid stunts? Unemployment is at an all time high now. Inflation is up. Everytime the market reduces price, he hikes up taxes and prevents the benefits from reaching the consumers. That's like a dictator.
