In the year 2022 when Symbi was ranked ahead of Nalsar and Kharagpur ahead of GNLU (practically ahead of almost all NLUs), even the staunchest supporters of NIRF realized its fakeness. The thing is that legal veterans, professionals and recruiters are not gullible but school kids and their parents are. The thing is these bogus rankings are government backed and all over the newspapers. Imagine picking Symbi (as of 2022 rankings) over probably one of the best law schools of the country or picking Kharagpur or Jamia over NLU J, this will be career suicide and gullible/non- exposed people can do this mistake. The past 6 rankings have proven they are not going to improve and these incompetent sarkari babus (thinking like "hmmm IIT K has IP must rank in top 5") along with the right amount of lobbying and submitting fake data means that anyone can topple anyone. Something needs to be done. The thing is no one cares about law. Tomorrow if suddenly IIT Delhi is dethroned by say Savitribai Engineering college all hell will break loose but a Jamia dethroning NLU J will not so much as cause an itch in the government's ears. We need to do something.

The degree of importance attributed to nirf rankings is odd, and slightly annoying.

Each students has different expectations and wants, and different NLUs cater to different needs.It's always better to know what you want from your university, and find out which specific university caters to it...and only then make your decision. Relying on rankings to make that choice for you is lazy.

Sorry, but Noojies and Nalsarites are experts at living in the past. NLUD is pretty much a solid second and the honestly, third and fourth are interchangeable with the other 2. You can shout NIRF data issues all you like, that doesn’t take away the merit and achievements of students at NLUD.

Aw, come on, don't remain in denial. Where was the "fake" data when NLUD ranked higher in the first 3 NIRF editions? NUJS has been flailing in NIRF since the beginning and NALSAR is definitely not as highly regarded as it once was. Give it a rest with this older NLU pride. Just like IIT Delhi and Bombay buried the oldest IIT Kharagpur, NLUD is doing the same with the older law schools.
