With the start of 3-year LLB Programme, and an option whether to stay at hostel or not, is NLUO on the lines of becoming another DU? The problem is not that they have started a PG programme, but do they have resources for them as they struggle with everything from infrastructure to faculties for their current UG and LLM courses. Even last semester some of the classes were being held in makeshift classrooms.
They have made the hostels optional, and are trying to enforce some hostel admission rules, which are not seen by anyone yet, and obsolete Hostel Discipline Rules (which advise against keeping laptops and phones in rooms).
Why is NLUO VC taking decision in haste when they are not able to support their existing programmes? Is she trying to do what she couldn't do in DU?

Last year they tried to sell the 3 year BA/Vocational BA bullshit to Odia locals and hardly a dozen people signed up. Last semester, people did not even see the people who had enrolled for the BA course. Now this 3 year LLB is a fresh attempt at trying to give the Univ some localised image (college based in Odisha for Odias). My guess is while some honest and good students who want to do 3 year LLB after their graduation will sign up, the majority of the enrollment would come from likes of people who just want to get the degree for namesake or where it is mandatory for enrollment to the bar. They haven't even introduced any entrance paper, so they've themselves indicated that this is the lot they're looking for.
VC is a very small part of the problem. The main catalyst behind these illogical decision are ▮▮▮ and ▮▮▮, who support VC. From my interactions with ▮▮▮
▮▮▮ too doesn't have a spine. See how ▮▮▮ supported VC on that email thread when VC accused other students for suicide of one.
The problem further intensifies with Student Council becoming puppets of ▮▮▮. They don't apply their mind and agree to what ▮▮▮ says. Anyway, ▮▮▮ is not going to listen to them regardless of what they say, the problem is they don't have a spine. The chairperson of student council doesn't have skills either to lead the council or to negotiate with admin. She merely won because no one else was there.
The college needs some significant means either in form of protest or something else to keep admin under some check. Because the college is getting famous for all the bad reasons.
They cite their lack of funds for moots, ADRs and other activities, but then organise FLOWER SHOW and do a grand advertisement for the same. Seriously, I mean which Kaw School, even for that matter University organises flower show unless you have horticulture department or some other department of that sort? For flower show they have funds, and otherwise they are bankrupt.
NLUO is in danger. Don't know what VC and her team have next for NLUOites.
People of NLUO take some strong measure, show admin and they are there because of you and not the vice versa. Tumhari fees ka khaa rahe hai wo, don't fall to whims of anyone. They have their careers sorted it's you who is going face the heat of their idiotic decisions.
