I never claimed that bigger batch size will not affect placement. However, you forget that currently NUJS has one of the best placement scenes in India among law schools, so even a reduced one will be far better than RGNUL's current scene. This thread was started by OP to compare options, not for bragging.

1. Nobody is spewing hatred against anybody. The NLUD trolls keep claiming that people are hating them every time people are exposing their lies and calling out their bad practices, because they have no other justification for those left.

2. As for faculty research and publications, feel free to go ahead and check the SCOPUS publications and citations of NUJS faculty, some of which are better than faculty from any other NLU at present. You don't have to rely on NIRF data for that.

3. Criticising NIRF does not mean claiming everything is wrong with them. The biggest drawbacks of NIRF are that they don't verify data submitted by the universities and have a opaque and arbitrary perception score. The publication data is actually collected by them independently and one of the better verified metrics, though not foolproof.

But you haven't addressed the fact that adding another 60+ students to the UG LLB batch will dilute the quality of graduates and inevitably affect NUJS placements in the long run. I say this because Noojies routinely brag on this site about how they have the best placements among tier-1 NLUs while criticising NLS, etc which now have a much larger batch size. But that's all based on a batch of 120-odd students. Add another 60 with some random Forensic Science LLB which will probably have zero practical returns, and you have a course like NLIU's BSc LLB in Cyber Laws or whatever which is largely pointless for a general law degree for UG students. BA LLB should always be preferred and plus there are multiple entry points into NUJS with lower CLAT ranks like NRI quota and domicile.

Give it a rest with the high quality teaching and research propaganda. NUJS faculty research and publications have in fact been given a better score than NALSAR and NLUD in the latest NIRF data. As for teaching faculty, there are plenty of good ones as well as bad ones, just like any other NLU.

Even though the BSc LLB students will be their first batch from NUJS, there is still no comparison between the facilities, legacy contact, peer group, institutional culture, faculty quality, opportunities including networking opportunities etc. between the two places at this stage. If you are getting NUJS, then you should go for it IMHO.

NUJS, imo. Since you are from WB, you shouldn't have much difficulty adapting. But there is a catch. The batch size of the UG LLB course at NUJS will now rise to around 180+ students, similar to NLIU Bhopal and GNLU Gandhinagar. NUJS also has domicile quota seats. I think NUJS' recruitment would be negatively affected in the future since the quality of the BSc LLB in forensic science is suspect. Their BA LLB is fine but that's also been surviving in repute mostly due to corporate placement numbers rather than high-quality teaching or research. It's a tough choice between the preferred BA LLB at RGNUL versus some new specialised course. But RGNUL is much worse than NUJS overall. So stick to NUJS.

i provisionally have been allotted patiala, however i do seemingly have a fairly decent shot of getting into the bsc llb course of nujs - considering my west bengal domicile.

please help me see a clearer picture as it would work wonders for me in taking an informed decision. thank you
