I m saying this with hand over my heart and not trying to be a troll-

Devote, DEVOTE, first 6-8 months to learning, keep everything (other than health) aside. You need to quickly except that you hardly know about the practical aspects and have to learn a lot to be productive at work place. Come on time, be humble, be available, and implement feedback quickly.
Connect with your team and make it a point to crack jokes and bond with them. Praise your seniors, and also, be sharp, show that you are research intensive and be seen as hard working. While learning certain things take time (drafting of SPA's and the like), you must show that you are diligent and hard working.
