As expected, the Congress winning has brought acche din for NLSIU. After an MLA we have an AG. So the likelihood of increased domicile reservation is low. But letβs also look at a new record set:
- NLSIU alum Aditya Sondhi was also AG under the previous Congress government
- Before becoming ASG Vikramjeet Banerjee was AG of Nagaland
So THREE alumni have been AG of a state and TWO have been AG of a major state. Other NLUs are yet to score even one.
More NLS grads must be inspired by these shining examples to consider serving the great state of Karnataka rather than going to serve our white masters abroad.
Didn't know that it is a race. AG is a political appointment, which has got nothing to do with one's merit as a lawyer. Why would a decent lawyer want to get into the murkiness of such politics to begin with?
