Sidda didn't do much for NLSIU during his tenure, right? Quite the opposite, in fact, since he was the one who introduced domicile reservation? Basically a rustic, rural guy who lacks the vision to promote NLSIU?
NLs doesnβt exist in a bubble. Whatever is good for Karnataka is good for Bangalore is good for nls. Yβall need to stop being so myopic. Siddaramaiah is a leader of men, an accomplished politician who had no corruption scams during his term and who has protected the poor and the vulnerable. Not to say DKS wouldnβt do some good either, but clearly one of them is a statesman and the other isnβt.
Itβs official: it will be Siddaramaiah. The man responsible for domicile quota. so you can imagine what will happen. And while NLSIU does have an alum as MLA, she is too junior to make a difference β- unless she becomes very active on social media, and does non-stop PR like Mahua Moitra.
Sidda is a socialist spendthrift under whose watch Karnataka's budget was repeatedly squandered. DKS on the other hand is far better for business and also pragmatic with finances. Although I don't ever vote Congress, I will vote DKS to CM in the coming elections.
Neither really. NLS is already a state university, just like all the other NLUs.
If anything it's the central government which should be ashamed of this...the shamelessness to create something like "National law University" and then allow it to be run like a state university.
I expect the state quota to be increased under Congress, the only relief NLS might recieve can be a slightly higher funding.
It's the Centre which needs to intervene to protect NLUs from the whims of state governments
Brilliant! Comparing NLU with NPS, my point wasn't about the usage of the term national but more to do with how these places were meant to be national Universities when they were created unlike whatever nps is.

So maybe Shiva is better as he is more savvy and also knows a lot of big industrialists?
