Have a vague connection (father's friend knows him) with a good senior advocate with plenty of work. I will be satisfied with just an interview as well, I can pull my weight and add value.

I have had considerable trouble getting hired by firms in my practice area because most firms have just outright stopped hiring at my level (A0). If connections can get me somewhere, I'll take it.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
