My girlfriend works in a chamber in Delhi and plans on being a litigator, while I, on the other hand, have been placed in a Mumbai-based firm. While this might work for a couple of years, the question is, who should move to the other person's city? Delhi is great for litigation, and Mumbai is the financial capital.

Are there any criteria based on which we can make this decision? Or has any other couple gone through this?

Delhi has decent corp as well. Your post makes it seem as though Delhi is some tier-2 city. Moreover, Delhi is a much more affordable city. If you guys are sure of being together long term, setting up base in Delhi seems much better.

Litigation prospects are much better in Delhi. There is also more variety of litigations one can conduct. For the most part, Tribunals and District Courts also function more smoothly in Delhi. Do not ask your girlfriend to shift to Numbai particularly if she is a Hindi speaker or has lived in North India mostly.

Delhi is just as good for corporate as well.

Never shift your workplace for your girlfriend or for anyone except your parents. Your parents are the one who will always love you to the core. And then comes profession which if you love it , it will love you back.

so you are saying she should move? in that logic even she should "never shift her workplace for her boyfriend.....parents are the ones who will always love her........profession....."??

No one should move. And the comment doesn’t even suggest that “she should move”. No one should be blindsided by a relationship.
