Another non-trollish answer: NLS kids are placed (regardless of whether one finds it legitimate or not) on a pedestal - nay, on a throne. Kings have the luxury of immense choice. Paupers must take what comes their way to survive.

An NLS student/grad's opportunities are so limitless in corp firms that he need not work to get an offer. So he finds himself free to explore other pastures, and devote a lot more thinking and time, and those in the pasture are more willing to entertain his exploration too. This is not novel - students from top IITs, or for that matter, Ivy leauge or Oxbridge unis have similar privilege, and do similar things.
The answer is obvious: it's much older than all other NLUs. Have you looked at the alumni of GLC and DU? NLS stands nowhere compared to what the alumni of both these conventionally non sexy law schools have achieved. Why would one expect law schools like NLUs that were opened barely a decade ago to have a great alumni base?
