How much one can earn in capital markets? Is it equivalent to earning is other areas in which law firms operate like M&A, GC, Dispute Resolution, etc.? or is it too less?

And is the situation same across the globe? because can see every big IPO has some foreign law firm involved.
bhai IPO ka x% nahi milta lawyers ko, like the bankers or underwriters. We make the same billable shit, notwithstanding the transaction. It could be a 100000 crore international IPO or 100000 Rs. due diligence of a new shop, law firms charge equally, contingency fees is illegal in India.

Firms like Wiel Gotshal in the US take a portion and therefore are the most profitable even with such few partners.
fee earning is much more profitable and safer than equity/ contingency. Also firms do make changes in rates depending on the deal.
Huge money is there but its only at the tier 1 firms in India. Everyone in this practice area are only clocking 3-3.5 years until they hit the SA designation post which they plan the smoothest sale to USA, UK or Singapore. India mein survive karna mushkil hai since the people here suck and there is heavy cost cutting involved while bidding for foreign mandates vis-a-vis acting as Indian legal counsels for the same. Avoid this hellhole altogether or be smart enough to leave India at the right time (before it gets too late). Cheers to all!
