So I stay in outskirts of Mumbai. HC from my house takes more than an hour by local train. I barely know people in Mumbai except some friends. I'm yet in law college. School I aim to practice at Bombay HC or district court near me.

Don't base your decision to practice in either court solely on travel distance. If you have the appetite for hard and also challenging work try a combination of both in the beginning and then move to the HC gradually. With District Court practice your career will soon plateau, not in terms of earning potential but in the type and quality of work. See what suits you best and more importantly actually try both instead of relying someone else's opinion before making decision.
