doing moot may give you confidence in public speaking but otherwise no use. imbibe practical knowledge and little dark art and you will be good in bed
Moots might help, but they aren't a must to get a TC. Speaking from experience.
Not sure about training contracts but definitely not required for a PPO at a law firm. In fact, a sample of your writing would be a better way to assess you than a moot.
