Conclusively I feel everyone hates their jobs, irrespective of their practice area, and this leaves me with little room for hope for my future (I don’t hate the work in cap marks per se, have been interning for a year). I have not heard anything golden about any other practice area either except for the fat money. Do people even have time to spend that?
Because as an intern we usually do not get the full picture of what the practice areas really are like. Jumping from area to another and to learn everything about it in a span of 4 weeks seems impractical.
I feel like I need an honesty hour where people don’t downplay their practice area in excess because it’s leaving my generation quite disillusioned with the idea of working in corporate law. Is it really going to be this bad - I don’t mean the toxicity and other factors that are variables and depend on the team.
I personally find securities law interesting but the work in cap marks is completely transactional. I would rather go for SEBI litigation.
Also, I'm in no position to comment anything because I'm in second year and have interned only once in Cap marks
